Position: Gourmet Staff

Gary's Super Buy Rite is a leading local retailer specializing in a wide range of wines, beers, spirits, and high-quality gourmet foods, cheeses, and meats. Our cheese selection is one of the best in the North NJ area.

We're seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join our team and play a key role in our specialty deli counter.

Key Responsibilities:

You'll work closely with customers, ensuring an exceptional deli and gourmet shopping experience.

Product Knowledge: Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of our gourmet products, including deli and cheese counter items.

Customer Service: Assist guests with product selection and provide appropriate pairing suggestions with wine, beer, and spirits.

Deli Operations: Take and fulfill sandwich orders, prepare sandwiches, and be familiar with the daily sandwich and catering menus.

Merchandising: Maintain inviting, well-stocked displays. This includes ensuring proper stock rotation, removing expired items, and replenishing clean and welcoming sampling stations.

Gift Selection: Guide customers in choosing cheeses and gourmet items for gift baskets.

Requirements:

We are looking for friendly, detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable attitude.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Basic computer skills.

Previous food, deli, grocery, or retail experience is preferred but not required—we will train the right candidate!
